Corner Office
Some days I feel like I rarely leave my corner of the couch. It’s my favorite spot to work, create, read, text, hangout, listen to a podcast... but Lord, am I here too much?
A light came on today. I’ve been called to women’s ministry. And sometimes that starts in my corner. It’s there that God teaches me and speaks to me. He fills me with life-giving words to pour out. And as I share more openly, more vulnerably, it invites others to do the same.
What turned my perspective:
- I had a great lunch date. We shared some vulnerabilities, some heart things, and some of what God is teaching us.
- In reading Captivating, a page reminded me of a friend, so I got to share with her and invite her into what I was learning.
- A fellow entrepreneur had an idea she wanted to share and asked me to look over some new content (which I proofed from my corner)
- Then an out-of-state encourager texted me, sharing a new sermon series.
Who’s to say great things can’t come from my little corner? God is working. Am I being open to what (and where) He has me? Silly Morgan, it matters not where you’re sitting. Are you listening to His voice and are you available to His daughters?
Do you find yourself stuck in a mental corner? Is someone trying to discourage your heart or diminish your impact? Take a minute to adjust your perspective and ask God to give you a glimpse into what He is doing. He might just surprise you.
(PS - Any guesses as to where I wrote this post? 😏)
